The
Collegiate Players Tour started summer play in 1994. In October
of 1995, the tour became a 501(C) (3), non-profit, tax-exempt
corporation with the intent of providing summer golf competitions
for college-aged men and women, ages 17 – 24.
The Collegiate Players Tour is administered by former SMU
Coach and Odessa College Athletic Director, Barry Rodenhaver.
A Board of Directors comprised of seven prominent business
people oversee and approve the annual running of the NCAA
and USGA approved tour.
Every
effort is made to make the tournaments financially feasible.
Nominal membership fees, coupled with extremely low entry
fees, discounted hotel rates, three complimentary meals, free-range
balls and a golf cart for the 36-hole day – make the
CPT the most affordable, competitive, amateur golf competition
in the country. The summer ends with a National Championship
with NO entry fee, all meals provided, (except two) and amateur
Ranking Points awarded to the top ten (10) male and female
contestants.
The CPT has four national sponsors, State Farm Insurance,
ServiceMaster Clean, Enterprise Rent-A-Car, and HeadLine Sports.
Without their manpower, organizational skills, and belief
in young people, the Tour would be unable to operate.
Please review the 2008 CPT summer schedule, submit your membership
application, and enjoy a summer of competitive, affordable,
and friendly collegiate golf.
